I want you to feel joy and excitement about who you are so you can start living and relating more freely in the world.

Hi, I’m Jodi, the CEO and Clinical Director here at Counselling & Co. I am so glad to be extending our village to you. My goal has been to create a community of compassionate and client-centered therapists who can meet all of your therapeutic needs under one roof. By using a variety of innovative and evidence-based treatment models, our team strives to be your home base for health and wellness. The foundation of my own clinical practice is rooted in my training as a Registered Social Worker, with over 16 years of clinical experience as a therapist and 11 years as a clinical supervisor.

Supervision

As a supervisor, my primary goal is to co-create and maintain a secure alliance with you, as this is paramount to the supervisory relationship and your growth as a clinician. Supervision can be a vulnerable experience and it requires courage to take the risks necessary to progress in your learning. As such, you can always count on me to be authentic, clear, direct and reassuring. Together, we will identify your goals for clinical learning, professional growth and attune to your intention of improving your clinical effectiveness with clients. This may include shifting or grounding your theoretical views, applying new interventions, identifying and processing your own emotional blocks, attachment history, and exploring self-of-therapist. At times, we may watch your recorded sessions, as this is a fantastic way to zoom into specific moments in your clinical practice where you may be feeling challenged. Our relationship can be characterized by mutuality, collaboration and respect, in order for your learning to take place in an atmosphere that makes space for you to be held emotionally, resonated with and allows for creativity and risk taking.

I offer a mixture of individual, dyadic and group supervision for individual, couple and family work. I also provide population specific group supervision for addiction and perinatal mental health. I am currently an Emotionally Focused Therapy Supervisor Candidate.

Therapy

As a therapist, my goal has always been to create a therapeutic space for people to find healing and growth with a focus on relationships, perinatal mental health, and addiction. My practice uses evidence-based and integrated techniques pulling in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Brainspotting to enrich my client's sessions.

I know it takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help, and I want to ensure you are met with the utmost care and compassion. No matter what you think or have been told, healing is absolutely possible for you and you are capable of feeling healthy, joyful and excited about what the future holds for you and your loved ones. I understand that you may feel vulnerable or uncertain about starting therapy and stepping into the unknown but just being here shows me you're open and willing to grow.

Why Work With Me

When we work together, I bring authenticity, integrity and a deep commitment to being fully present with you in all your heartache and pain. As a therapist, my gift is my ability to be moved by you and your story. Life can be hard. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a moment to breathe, explore, vent, and grow.

I am here to help you:

  • Find the freedom to live out your hope and dreams

  • Explore how your attachment history impacts your relational experiences

  • Take time to reflect on your values, beliefs and what's important to you

  • Connect more deeply with yourself and with others.

  • Improve your confidence to live more authentically

  • Expand your village and decrease loneliness

  • Adjust when life doesn't go according to plan

  • Create more balance and alignment within self

Clinical Background & Personal Perspective

Early in my career, through extensive training and hands-on work in a range of substance use and mental health settings, I developed a specialty in addiction. Over time, it became clear that substance use does not exist in isolation, but deeply impacts - and is shaped by - the relationships surrounding it. This understanding led me to develop a sub-specialty centered on supporting partners, families, and loved ones through psycho-education and therapeutic care. I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the often isolating and overwhelming personal and relational impact of substance use, helping them respond to crises, establish healthy boundaries, communicate more effectively, and reconnect with a sense of hope and possibility.

My work in perinatal mental health began early in my own parenting journey, when my first child was just eight months old. During this time, while surrounded by new parents and caregivers, I became acutely aware of the gaps in emotional and relational support during one of the most vulnerable transitions in a family’s life. While my personal experience offered valuable insight, it also prompted extensive professional training in perinatal mental health. I went on to complete advanced education focused on supporting individuals and couples across the reproductive journey, including experiences of trauma, loss, and reproductive complexity, and I am certified through Postpartum Support International as a Perinatal Mental Health–Certified clinician (PMH-C).

I also bring both clinical and lived experience to my work with families navigating childhood disability, neurodivergence, and complex health needs. As a parent to neurodivergent children, including a child who is hard of hearing and has additional medical challenges, I hold a deep respect for the fear, grief, uncertainty, and advocacy demands that often accompany a diagnosis or a longer-term journey of understanding a child’s needs. Supporting parents through this often overwhelming and isolating experience is a meaningful and integral part of my clinical practice, and I strive to offer care that is compassionate, affirming, and grounded in hope.
