Headshot of Meghan Hamilton

Hi, I’m Meghan, a therapist and supervisor at Counselling & Co. For over 12 years, since beginning my journey as a Registered Social Worker, I’ve been dedicated to supporting children, individuals, and families through life’s tender and challenging seasons. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in connection. I strive to create a secure, trusting alliance where you feel truly seen and supported as we explore both personal and professional challenges, and move together toward growth and healing.

Therapy

My passion for working with children and families began in my teens and has guided my path from camp counsellor, to teacher, to therapist. I believe that connection is essential to our well-being, and I feel honoured to help people deepen their relationships with themselves and with those they love. I support families navigating separation and conflict, children struggling with school, anxiety, ADHD, and self-confidence, and parents seeking steadiness in the midst of uncertainty. I understand that therapy — especially with loved ones — can feel vulnerable. When the behaviours of those we care about leave us feeling both concerned and frustrated, it can be lonely and draining. Together, we work to restore a sense of calm and clarity when life’s storms feel overwhelming.

Becoming a parent deepened my appreciation for the complexity of family life and sparked a special interest in supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. While growing a family can bring immense joy, it can also stir feelings of worry, grief, loneliness, and overwhelm. As a parent, I feel the constant tide of the beautiful gift and painful struggle of parenting. I feel privileged to walk alongside new mothers and their families during this meaningful and emotional chapter of life.

Supervision

As a supervisor, I aim to create a space for supervisees to feel safe bringing their questions and struggles. The work we do as therapists is personal and deep and hard. I understand the vulnerability of opening up and showing your work to another for feedback or guidance. I appreciate the courage this takes. Together, we’ll gently explore your hopes and goals for clinical learning and professional growth, while staying connected to your intention to feel more confident and effective in your work with clients. This may include deepening or reshaping your theoretical lens, experimenting with new interventions, and compassionately exploring your own emotional responses, attachment history, and the ways your “self-of-the-therapist” shows up in the room.

At times, we may sit together with recordings of your sessions, using them as a supportive way to slow down and really notice what’s unfolding — especially in moments that feel tender, complex, or challenging. Our relationship will be rooted in mutual respect, openness, and collaboration, creating a space where you feel emotionally held, genuinely understood, and free to be creative, curious, and courageous in your growth.

I offer a mixture of individual, dyadic, and group supervision for individual, couple and family work. I also provide population specific group supervision for child and family therapy.

Why Work With Me

I aim to be compassionate and non-judgmental, understanding we all have a good reason for why we do the things we do. I want to spend time really getting to know you and your family’s story, your struggles and triumphs. Together we can uncover the gems that are already there, build insight, strengthen connection, and develop new healthy patterns to help you reach your goals.

With children and teens, I focus on building rapport and emotional safety, using play, art, creativity, and flexibility to strengthen resilience, confidence, and emotion regulation skills.

With couples and families, we identify relational patterns, deepen mutual understanding, improve communication, heal wounds, and rebuild connection and joy.

With parents, I support confidence, developmental understanding, emotional attunement, and compassion for the very real challenges of raising children.

With adults, we explore your inner world with curiosity and care, identify patterns affecting well-being, reduce guilt and shame, strengthen boundaries, build confidence, and understand how your attachment history shapes your current relationships.
